1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, use the Services, or attend an event.

2. Device Permissions and Why We Need Them
We request the following permissions to provide core functionality. You can manage or revoke them in device settings.
- Location Access: Show nearby matches and local events. May include fine location (GPS) and background location with your explicit permission.
- Camera and Media Access: Used when you upload profile media, send photos in chat, or record voice notes. We only access files you select.
- Microphone Access: Used for voice/video messages or live chat features. No background recording occurs.
- Contacts (for Invitations): Used for phone number verification or "Invite a Friend" features. We do not read or store call history or messages beyond verification.
- Biometric Authentication: Optional biometric login (Face ID/Fingerprint). Processed on your device and never stored by The Love Star™.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

4. How We Use Your Information
- Provide Core Services: Enable chat, matchmaking, social posting, local event recommendations, and optional dating recommendations.
- Personalize Content (Astrology): Use birth details for astrology-based insights and compatibility scores.
- Power AI Features: Generate Ask AI answers, compatibility interpretations, and transit forecasts via AI service providers.
- Event Matching: Use event feedback data to calculate event matches and share non-identifying feedback with relevant attendees.
- Security & Safety: Prevent fraud, enforce Community Guidelines, and run web reCAPTCHA on sign-in and verification flows.
- Marketing & Promotions: Send push notifications and relevant updates. You may opt out of non-essential notifications.
- Process Payments: Process payments for event tickets and other purchases offered through the Services.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal data in the traditional sense. We may share limited information only in these cases:
- Service Providers (Vendors): Hosting, analytics, messaging, security, and payment processing (e.g., Firebase, payment gateways).
- AI Providers: Birth chart context, compatibility inputs, Ask AI questions, and transit prompts for AI-generated interpretations.
- Other Users: Profile data, location (if enabled), and social posts visible to other users. Event feedback is shared only with the specific user it pertains to.
- Media Storage/CDN Providers: Profile media, birth chart images, synastry charts, and chat attachments may be stored and delivered via third-party infrastructure.
- Google reCAPTCHA: Web sign-in and email verification flows may process interaction data with Google reCAPTCHA.
- Legal Requirements: To comply with law, protect user safety, enforce our rights, or respond to government requests.
- Business Transfers: In case of merger, acquisition, or restructuring, user data may be transferred as an asset.
Third-party birth data in saved charts is provided by your account. We do not collect that person's birth details directly unless they create their own account.
6. Data Retention
- Personal data is retained as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services.
- Upon account deletion, data is removed within a reasonable period, typically 30 days, except where required for fraud prevention, legal compliance, or anonymous analytics.
- Saved birth charts are removed when you delete them individually or when you delete your account.
- Email verification codes are short-lived and not retained long-term after verification or expiry.
- Content you shared with other users (for example, chat messages) may remain visible to those users after you delete your account, unless otherwise required by law or safety policies.
- Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely to improve our systems.
7. Feedback
We may collect feedback to improve our services. In-app feedback may be associated with your account for support. Public examples use anonymized or aggregated form where possible.

- Opt-Out of Communications: Opt out of marketing or non-essential notifications via device or app settings.
9. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard encryption, access control, and secure infrastructure. While we use strong measures, no system is completely immune from risks, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
The Love Star™ is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If a child registers, their data will be promptly deleted.
11. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will appear at https://thelovestar.com/privacy.html, and continued use of the app means acceptance of the updated policy.
